THE VULCAN EXPERIENCE

Tours of Vulcan B2 XH558 (G-VLCN) at its

Doncaster Sheffield Airport base are currently

in abeyance pending the construction of a

new hangar, planning permission for which

was granted just before Christmas. Co-located

Canberra B2/6 WK163 (G-CTTS) and Swift F4

WK275 are also inaccessible at present.

YORKSHIRE AIR MUSEUM

Another excellent regional museum, famed

for its rebuilt Halifax Friday the 13th, and

recognised as the Allied Air Forces Memorial.

Its engine and taxi run events involving the

Victor, Buccaneer, Nimrod, Dakota, Devon and

other ‘live’ aircraft are deservedly popular. The

Mirage IV is an exciting – and, in the UK, unique

• addition.
