OF

In 1935 the new Bristol Blenheim bomber made its first flight at Filton and
was faster than any fighter then in service with the RAF. Fulfilling a great
need, 4422 Benheims were built but the type also had the sad distinction of
having lost more aircrews than any other. By 1939 it was outclassed by most
of the fighters it was likely to encounter. G-BPIV is preserved at Duxford.
