ooking at these pictures

reminds us just how many

fabulous objects of (VW and

Porsche built) desire rolled

into Sandown Park this March.

The VolksWorld

Show has always

been the number one place to debut

a car for the new show season and

for many, it’s the first glimpse we’ll

see of something if it hasn’t already

been leaked all over the internet.

The ex-Chis Jory Oval for example. If

you’re into air-cooled VWs you won’t

need us to tell you the car voted

Europe’s Most Beautiful VW at the

first Bug Jam is an iconic machine.

But did you know it was going to

be there in its all its restored and

better than ever glory? The first time

I ever saw this car in the metal it

was languishing in a field looking

incredibly sorry for itself. To see it

restored and taking pride of place on

the VolksWorld

stand blew myself,

and everyone else away. As did the

weekend’s Best of Show - Limebug’s

incredible ’49 Beetle. There was

simply too much to take in on a

single viewing - with details like the

tank for the air-ride located in the

tunnel, stitched headlight covers and

man alive, those wheels! It

was a^

show car in every sense of the word

Still the biggest and best indoor VW show

anywhere in the world. Here’s why
