Crazy for chocolate

LIFE IN ABU Dhabi involves a lot of eating.

Unless you have almost superhuman levels

of will power, it’s impossible to resist all the

amazing food that’s on offer to you.

This is a place where Friday brunch is just

part of your weekly routine, and Saturday

breakfasts involve many courses

and last for a good few hours.

Going for afternoon tea is also

a popular way of indulging, and

so you can Ànd these towers of

naughty treats in many fancy

cafés across the city.

But we’ve noticed an increase

in chocolate-themed afternoon

teas recently, and the main culprit

is Majlis Lobby Lounge at the

Rosewood Abu Dhabi.

This stylish and comfortable lounge

has launched a ‘Chocolate Extravaganza’

afternoon tea, and as you can see from the

incredible explosion of sweet treats in the

photo above, it’s not exactly a modest affair.

Available every Thursday from 3pm to 9pm,

the spread includes chocolate

opera cake, chocolate brûlée,

white chocolate cheesecake,

chocolate trufÁes, chocolate

lollipops and more.

Meanwhile, the star of the

show has to be the chocolate

fountain, where you can dip

home-made marshmallows and

fresh fruits in delicious warm

melted chocolate. But the most

decadent spread is that even the plates

are made from edible chocolate, so make

sure you grab a side of plate to go with your

delicate sweet treats.

Crystal Lounge at The St. Regis Abu Dhabi

is also offering a chocolate afternoon tea until

April 30. Featuring an incredible selection of

chocolate cakes, pastries and pastries, there

are even chocolate milkshakes to go with it.

Both selections include savoury sandwiches

and freshly baked scones (if you feel like

taking a break from all the chocolate) and you

won’t regret a single calorie.
