Sew the two 1^11 ⁄ 2 x29^1 ⁄ 2 in strips
of taupe print fabric to the left
and right edges of the quilt centre.
Press seams outwards. Then join the
two 1^1 ⁄ 2 x21^1 ⁄ 2 in strips to the top and
bottom edges and press. Your quilt
should measure 31^1 ⁄ 2 x21^1 ⁄ 2 in, from
raw edge to raw edge.

46

Sew the two 1^1 ⁄ 2 x31^1 ⁄ 2 in strips
of brown check print fabric to
the left and right edges of the quilt.
Press. Then join the two 1^1 ⁄ 2 x23^1 ⁄ 2 in
strips to the top and bottom edges
and press as before. Your quilt should
now measure 33^1 ⁄ 2 x23^1 ⁄ 2 in from raw
edge to raw edge.

47

Repeat Step 45 using the 1^1 ⁄ 2
x33^1 ⁄ 2 in and the 1^1 ⁄ 2 x25^1 ⁄ 2 in
strips of taupe print fabric to add
Border 3 to the quilt. It should now
measure 35^1 ⁄ 2 x25^1 ⁄ 2 in from raw edge
to raw edge.
