Max gets into a spin
For Australia, I decided to shoot
the start of the race from the
outside of Turn 2. I chose to
stay by the barriers rather than
up in the photographers’ tower,
as I think you get a much more
dynamic shot close to the track.
In the early stages, Max
Verstappen was pushing hard
as he was stuck behind the Haas
of Kevin Magnussen. I believe
he damaged his diffuser, which
caused him to spin in Turn 2.
I was pre-focused with the
FDPHUDRQDVSHFL¿FSDUWRI
the kerb, but when his car took
a different trajectory I had to
suddenly press the autofocus
button while trying to follow
the spinning car as best as I
could. It required lightning fast
reactions to capture.
