W
hen it rains, it pours — that old chestnut is one
that’s usually referred to when things go wrong
many times over. While things going wrong may
have been the experience for many of our feature car
owners, it’s not always the case in the world of NZV8.
We’re not sure why it is, but, for some reason, when we
get one specific type of feature car lined up, we’re often
hit with an influx of them — it pours! That influx is, as
Murphy’s Law would have it, more often than not met
with an equal vacuum of the opposite type of vehicle.
The last few months have seen the influx needle swing
heavily to Ford Falcons, and left a void in a marque
we’re usually drowning in — Chevrolet.
Obviously, this leaves us in equal parts stoked to
have more Fords to feature and on the lookout for
more Chevs — to make sure we bring you a balanced
magazine — as well as all the other marques, of course.
Speaking of which, hopefully by now you’ll all have
had a chance to check out the other projects we’ve
been working on, including the recently released
Holden Special Edition — something we’d been
chipping away at long before we caught wind of
another publisher also producing one; remember:
when it rains, it pours.
The other thing that we’ve been flat out with is
our TV programme, Teng Tools Muscle Garage.
As was the case with NAC Car Culture, which we
shared with our sister title, NZ Performance Car,
television is the best way to see the cars from these
pages come to life. The difference is that this new
programme has nothing but NZV8-related content.
The show airs every Sunday as part of TV3’s
CRC Motorsport line-up, so make sure to tune in if
you’ve not as yet, as the programme’s been getting
great reviews.
We’re already sorting out the content for the
second and third(!) seasons, which will air early
and late in 2018 respectively — hopefully giving
us enough time to avoid the downpour of any
particular brand!
With this being the last issue of NZV8 on sale for
2017, I’d like to thank all our loyal readers for their
support, and wish you all the best for the holiday
season. Take care out there, and we’ll catch you
again in the new year to do it all over again.

f you love your Holdens, new or old, wild or mild,
then you’re going to love our NZV8 Holden Special
Edition. We’ve packed it full of some of Aussie’s
finest machines, as well as plenty of Holden-specific
tech articles, as the ultimate tribute to the brand.
The Holden Special Edition is in stores now, but, like
Australian production of the vehicle, its time is limited,
so we suggest you get in quick. If you’re reading this
sitting on the couch, keep in mind that you can order a
copy to be sent to your door by visiting magstore.nz.
