Event Report51st BurgerFuel Port Road Drags
I
bet no one could have predicted that a small
club sprint event on an industrial backstreet
would morph into an event with such an enviable
record. Not only has the Port Road Drags
achieved a staggering 51 years without being cancelled
or postponed due to rain, but it also has the reputation
of being the best street drags in the land.
Ironically, despite the drags being run for many
(many) more years than I’ve been alive, I’d never
personally made it to the event until this year, as
I’ve always needed to be in other places on the last
Sunday of November, when the event is held. This
year, however, would be different, and, right from the
week leading up to the event, when every second
