argument,’ says the

living with Joel. ‘We are
so content with just
each other’s company’Joel had been thinking
about proposing to Elle
for a year, saying, ‘It just
feels right. I knew she
was my person’on my street before we met!
Joel:We lived within 100m of each other
for12monthsandneversaweachother!
Elle:But then the universe makes you meet
atthe right time.And how did that first date go?
Elle:Ididn’tplayhardtoget,butIhadpushed
off the dates. Then Joel sent me a text saying,
‘Whatareyoudoing?’andIsaid,‘I’mathome,
eatingtakeaway.’Andhesaid,‘SoamI.Thisis
why we’re still single at the age that we’re at.’
When he said that, I was like, ‘Pick me up
tomorrow night at 7pm.’Youobviouslyhititoff!
Elle:Joel had flowers for me and boys just
don’tdothatanymore.Itwassonice!Both
ofusknewfromtheget-gothatthiswas
something different and it was really real.Andthingsmovedprettyfast...
When did you shack up together?
Elle:HisleasewasupsoItoldhimtomove
hisstuffinhere,notthinkingthatmeant
we were moving in together! Then all of
asuddenwewerelike,‘OhmyGod, we’ve
been living together for a year.’Did you talk much about marriage?
Elle:No–wenevertalkedaboutit!Joel, how long had you been planning
theengagement?
Joel:Nearly three months. The ring
took a while to organise.
