Gillies cope in the jungle?What did you do on your last
night of freedom?
Well, my husband Ben wasn’t
there so I didn’t get to do all
the things I would’ve liked to
do! I am going to miss him so
much. I think we will both really
struggle without one another.
We know you’re psychic.
Have you had any visions
about life in camp?
I’ve had a vibe that I will get
along with everyone – apart
from one person. I’ve seen that
one of them is going to do my
head in, by being too precious.
Why go into the jungle?
I meditated on it for a long
time and now I think I can
win it. It’s about helping
other people. I was like,
‘Come on Jackie, get in there,
shine it up and win this.’Have you ever camped or
been in a jungle before?
I don’t mind glamping. I’ve
never been in the jungle unless
you count the fact that I was
conceived under a cherry tree
in Muc, Croatia, so perhaps
the jungle is in my blood!
How far out of your comfort
zone will you be?
OMG, I am all the way out!
First of all, I like beautiful
things, so I don’t know how
I will get used to sitting here
in dirt eating 800 calories
a day. I like to eat a lot of food!
I won’t cope in any confined
spaces either – I think I was
buried alive in a past life.He’s best known for finishing in
second place on 2003’s Australian
Idol, but Shannon Noll reckons
growing up on a farm will help
him succeed in the jungle...Is this the strangest thing
you’ve done?
I’ve done a lot of crazy shit
growing up – things like
crashing cars and motorbikes
on the farm. This would have
to be the first intentionally
crazy thing I’ve done.
Will you have a problem
with the eating challenges?
No, I’ll eat anything. I haveeaten a sheep’s heart, emu
eggs and I’ve even swallowed
heaps of flies.
Will being away from loved
ones make you emotional?
I’ve vowed not to cry. I did
the same on Australian
Idol because people cry for
the sympathy vote. If I do
cry it will be bloody genuine,
that’s for sure.
Who’d be your worst
jungle buddy?
I’d hate to be in with anyone
who’s a shit-stirrer. It would
be great to be in there with
Guy Sebastian though!
Apart from family, what will
you miss most in the jungle?
Of course my wife, kids, brother
and mum, but also my kelpie
Matilda and my Burmese
cat Holly. And a decent
steak! I’m dreading
