Pia attended acting workshops and underwent
martial arts training to prepare for the role. She
also had to learn how to balance her body when her
character had to fly. “That was a bit harder because
doing the flying scenes, nakahiga talaga ako and I
have to keep upright so I don’t look like my body
is hanging. It’s quite challenging sa likod.” She was
wowed by stars who have taken on superhero roles.
“I understand those who take on superhero roles like
Angel Locsin, who had to wear the harness in a sexy
costume. I have high respect for her because it’s so
hard to do,” she says. “Based on my own experience,
to hold it for a few seconds was already so difficult.”
Pia is no stranger to superheroes being a fan of
Rogue, Black Widow and Wonder Woman. She
also uses Morrigan of Darkstalkers, Storm, and X
when playing Marvel vs. Capcom. When asked what
superpower she would want, she answers, “I’d want
to control time.” But she explains that she doesn’t
want to change anything in the past. “Not necessarily
go back in time, but fast forward or solowmo the
time para ‘yung mga fun moments masusulit ko.
Tapos ‘yung mga things like stuck in traffic, I could
fast forward,” she laughs.
