Update:

A Cure for Freyja
The MotoGP paddock is continuing to support the
very sick six-year-old Canberran girl by donating
another round of memorabilia for the cause. Freyja
Christiansen underwent Protocol Immunotherapy
at the Sydney Children’s Hospital, before becoming
the youngest child in Australia to have major robotic
surgery at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse at Sydney’s Royal
Prince Alfred Hospital. After the surgery, and thanks
to the money raised with the help of the motorcycle
community, she will travel to the UK for Proton
Therapy assessment before heading to Prague for
the therapy.
“When we started helping the fundraising group
our goal was to make the Proton Therapy possible.
It looks like we have achieved our goal,” Freyja’s
friend and MotoGP Öhlins technician Patrick
Primmer said. Stay tuned for more details about the
upcoming second auction.

No ABS,

no way

Anti-lock (ABS) or combined braking
systems (CBS) will be mandatory on
all new motorcycles sold in Australia
from November 2019, regardless
of the machine’s capacity. Despite
still being 11 months away from
implementation, the move was
published some eight years ago in the
National Road Safety Strategy 2011-
2020 and brings Australia in line with
Europe, which mandated ABS on all
motorcycles greater than 125cc back
in January 2016.
