Tottenham Hotspur — December 07, 2017

(Nancy Kaufman) #1
FORM GUIDE:
After winning five consecutive Cypriot
championships, APOEL's domestic dominance
is under threat following a mixed bag of results
that has left Thrylos [The Legend] off the pace
but with games in hand. However, they go into
tonight's match at Wembley with a chance of
clinching third place in Group H and qualifying
for the Europa League following two 1-1 draws
against Borussia Dortmund, leaving both clubs
level on points. However, BVB have a +7 better
goal difference.
MANAGER:
GIORGOS DONIS
Donis became the first Greek to play in the
Premier League when signing for Blackburn
Rovers in 1996 and later played for Sheffield
United and Huddersfield Town. A manager since
2002, he first took charge of APOEL in 2013,
winning the Cypriot First Division in 2014, before
leaving in January 2015 and taking charge of
Al-Hilal (Saudi Arabia) and Al-Sharjah (UAE).
Donis returned to the APOEL job in July, replacing
Thomas Christiansen after his appointment at
Leeds United.
