ood evening and welcome back to Wembley.

It is a good feeling for us to be playing our
final group game tonight knowing that we have
guaranteed our placing in the knockout stages of
the Champions League as winners of our group.
Our ambition from the start was to qualify and we can take
pride in the manner we have done so, particularly in a group
containing some of the best teams in Europe. We await the draw
for the knockout stage next week with confidence and excitement.
First of all though, our focus is on tonight as we welcome APOEL
FC and their manager Giorgos Donis to our home. They are still
hopeful of securing a place in the Europa League Round of 32 and
have achieved some good draws against Borussia Dortmund in
this campaign so it will be a difficult test tonight.
The games continue to come thick and fast as we enter the
holiday season and we must continue to manage the players’
workload carefully. This evening we will give opportunities to
some players who have not played as much as others and we want
them to show us their quality and win the game.
I was proud of my players for their performance at Watford
on Saturday. We showed great character and determination as
we played almost a full half with 10 men. Despite having fewer
players, we tried to win the game, created chances and looked
solid at the back.
I believe we have deserved more from the games recently and

not a lot has gone our way. We are a young side that continues to
learn and I think this can be a good experience for us in the long
term. When you face disappointment, frustration and tough
periods, it can build character. We must learn and be stronger for it.

Enjoy the game.
