Swansea City Jack — December 09, 2017

(Tina Sui) #1

The game will be played at Landore on
Friday, December 15 at 6pm.
The young Swans reached the fourth
round of the competition last season
after beating Wolves 2-1, but fell to a
3-1 defeat against Newcastle United at
St James’ Park.
The Spireites clinched a 2-1 win over
Port Vale in the second round earlier
this month to secure the tie against the
Swans.

SWANS FACE WOLVES TEST IN FA CUP
Swansea City face a trip to
Wolverhampton Wanderers in round
three of the Emirates FA Cup.
The Swans will go to Molineux on the
weekend of January 5-8, with the date
and kick-off time of the tie to be
confirmed.
Paul Clement’s men can expect a
difficult test having been paired with
the current Championship leaders in
the third-round draw.
Wolves have impressed so far this
season following the summer

appointment of Nuno Espirito Santo,
the former Valencia boss, and the
addition of a number of notable
signings.
The Swans fell at the first hurdle in last
season’s FA Cup, going down 2-0 at
Hull City.
Their last competitive encounter with
Wolves was an extraordinary 4-4 draw
in the 2011-12 Premier League
campaign.

KILLERS TO PLAY THE LIBERTY
The Killers are coming... to rock the
Liberty Stadium on Saturday, June 23.
It will be just one of two stadium
shows the huge American group will be
performing next summer – and is a
second major music coup for Swansea
after the recent Little Mix concert
announcement.
The Liberty concert will be The Killers’
first stadium date since they headlined
a sold-out Wembley Stadium in June
2013.
Since the release of their 2004 debut

album, Hot Fuss, with its now-classic
breakthrough singles Mr Brightside
and Somebody Told Me, The Killers
have gone on to sell 25 million albums,
win numerous Grammy, Brit, Q and
NME nominations and awards and
headline stadia and festivals around the
world.
The Las Vegas band’s superb new LP,
Wonderful Wonderful, was released in
September 2017 and saw the group
achieve a record-breaking fifth
consecutive UK No. 1 – a seventh for
frontman Brandon Flowers, who also
has two No. 1 solo albums to his name

  • and also topped the American charts
    for the first time.
    The Killers’ career-spanning live set
draws from an enviable back catalogue
that also boasts such hits as When You
Were Young, Human, Read My Mind,
Runaways, The Man and Run For
    Cover.
