event that will always make 2017 a memorable

year, a year that has brought women’s issues at the

in the professional sphere, is the Harvey Weinstein

scandal. Indeed, the scandal, and the following

fallout where several prominent Hollywood icons,

actors and scions have come under the scanner

for sexual abuse, has been nothing less than a

revolutionary wave sweeping across the world, in

what has now been coined as ‘The Weinstein Effect’.

Harvey Weinstein is an American fi lm mega mogul

who along with his brother Bob, founded Miramax,

an entertainment company which produced several
