DESTINATION SAVVY

Riddhi Vyas explores the
rich culture and religious
roots of the ancient city of
Dwarka, Gujarat.

Pristine

Dwarka!

on offer at Makhan, the hotel’s restaurant, I was
completely at ease.
DWARKA DELIGHTS
One of the fi rst places I visited was Shivrajpur beach
with a coastline that extended for miles. I also got
a glimpse of the Tata Salt factory. Another stunning
sight was the number of cows I saw trudging along
the roads every time I stepped out.
IN GOD’S COMPANY
You can’t visit Dwarka and not pay your respects to
the religious monuments that stand tall throughout
the city. I was very fortunate to attend the evening

Steeped in history and religion, Dwarka,
Gujarat, is a holy city, believed to have once been the
kingdom of the Hindu God, Lord Krishna. But apart
from its mystical lure, the city also offers a wealth
of sightseeing and tourist attractions. So naturally,
I was very excited when I got the opportunity to visit
this fascinating city.
LUXE LIVING
After touching down at Porbandar airport, I sped off
to the luxe Mercure Hotel, where I received a very
warm welcome from the staff. And with my super
comfy room and the delicious vegetarian cuisine
