I BELIEVE

I grew up with a

lot of restrictions,

but my father

is my biggest

inspiration and

my mother is

my greatest

strength.

My father taught my sisters and me that our careers
should be our fi rst priority and made sure that we
were able to stand on our own feet. So there was
a lot of pressure on us to focus on our studies and
our careers. Throughout my growing years there were
very few light, happy moments. But the memories I
cherish are of the times my mother took us to the local
garden. My sisters and I had a lot of fun playing on
the monkey bars and other equipment.
SCHOOL COOL
At some point, I wanted to become a lawyer or a doctor.
I think I was a different person then as I didn’t even
consider entering the creative fi eld. My initial schooling
began in a school in my small town but I later moved
to Holy Angels’ Convent, a boarding school in Uttar
Pradesh. I did not like studying and my parents got
a lot of complaints about me not paying attention to
my studies. This led to several arguments at home.
But after the 8th Grade, I started getting better,
though I had this nagging fear of Algebra. I hated
numbers and till today I don’t like calculations. I
did really well in subjects like History, Biology and
Sociology, but never Maths.
I did enjoy sports though and was a throw ball champion.
I also loved reading Archie Comics. That’s when I fell
in love with colour and since then, have never been
able to read anything in black and white.
COLLEGE TALES
I went to St Bede’s College in Shimla where I studied
Greek Mythology, English and Political Science. It
gave me the freedom to explore different versions

A hard worker with acute business instincts and a
passion for fi lms, I am Prernaa Arora, Co-Founder,
KriArj Entertainment Pvt Ltd. But more than that, I’m
just a girl standing on her own feet and making her
dreams come true, one fi lm at a time.
CHILDHOOD FUN
I grew up in the village of Rajpura in Punjab. My
family was a conservative one and I grew up with
a lot of restrictions, like not being allowed to leave
the house after 7 p.m and so on. My mother Priti is
a homemaker and my father Virenderr is a Minister in
the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in Rajpura, Punjab, as
well as an agriculturalist. He is my biggest inspiration
and my mother is my greatest strength.
