01: DESIGN CLIFFTOP HOUSE
LOCATION HILLSBOROUGH
How could you not sleep well up in
the treetops! This three-level home in
Hillsborough has spectacular uninterrupted
views of both trees and water from fl oor-to-
ceiling windows that cover almost the entire
exterior of the house. With the bedrooms
set on the middle level, the rooms sit snugly
in the tree canopy and are fi lled with natural
light, making them bright and airy. From the
master bedroom, external cross-bracing,
which fortifi es the building, is highly visible,
lending a unique design feature to the space
that in no way detracts from the view.

02: DESIGN CLASS HOUSE
LOCATION MELBOURNE
Combining traditional elements in a
contemporary framework, the master
bedroom of this Victorian cottage is an
elegant boudoir with a touch of glam.
Pressed-tin distressed-look tiles add a rustic
element to a feature wall that sits in harmony
with other heritage aspects of the space, like
the graceful ceiling medallion. Twin mirrors
sit over the bedside tables, refl ecting light
around the room and catching the twinkle of
the overhead chandelier to contribute to the
sophistication of the decor. The warm neutral
tone consistently matches the colour palette
used throughout the rest of the house and
gives the bedroom a warm, cosy aura.
