01: DESIGN AMERICAN BARNS
LOCATION AUCKLAND
This delightfully simple interior fl oorplan belies
a host of stunning features, including exposed
beams in the living room and ceilings that soar
to 8.5 metres. The timbers from this home
were sourced via Heritage Barns in the USA,
and in a previous incarnation the timber would
have been used in a barn from one of the early
pioneering states. In keeping with the rustic
theme, an imposing signature fi replace made
of schist is the feature piece of the living room
and bears a commanding presence.
