03: DESIGN RHYLL HOUSE
LOCATION RHYLL, PHILLIP ISLAND
Ample space for entertaining was high on the
wish list for this growing family of 10, who also
wanted plenty of living spaces that maximise
the glorious views. Parts of the home are
deliciously decadent, while others are more
simple in style. One of the standout features of
the home is the open-plan kitchen/dining and
lounge spaces that connect to the outdoors via
a generous bifold door. A suspended fi replace
by Oblica takes centre stage in the living space.
Its location means it can be enjoyed from both
inside and outside the home.

04: DESIGN LAVA TIVOLI TERRACE
LOCATION PADDINGTON, SYDNEY
With classic elements and a robust fusion of
contemporary cool, this Sydney terrace is a
winner. It’s tiny but it packs a visual punch.
“The challenge was working out how to
translate design principles on a small scale
and on a domestic budget within a heritage
structure,” says architect and homeowner
Chris Bosse. One of the modern elements
in the living room is a fi replace; its subtle
frontage is sleek and modern, injecting the
room with functional warmth without taking
over the character of the space.
