home, but the way we go about
designing and thinking about these spaces
and how they integrate into our homes has
changed. In the early 20th century, finding
a comfortable seat in the living room and
reading a book or listening to the radio was
the epitome of home entertainment.
Technological advances throughout the
past 15 years have radically altered the
ways in which we integrate new technology
into our homes. Australian households
are one of the quickest adopters of new
technology, and this has allowed our small
population to be an important market for
companies bringing cutting-edge home
entertainment services to our shores.
These services have dramatically
infl uenced how we access diff erent forms
of media and have been massively aff ected
by digital and internet innovations. Be it
visual, aural, or a mix of both, all forms
of media can be accessed, purchased,
downloaded and consumed via the internet
and on the products we use to access it.
Movies, music, video games and
other forms of media entertainment are
increasingly consumed in these spaces via
large-format screens, which have become
cheaper to own and more conscious of the
spaces they inhabit, leading to higher-
quality audio-visual experiences and
more streamlined and design-conscious
products. This in turn has created an even
greater desire to integrate them into our
living spaces to enable us to access media
on demand when and where we want it.A joint project by Wavetrain Acoustics and
Home Control & Audio, this project was
created from the ground up for a movie
and music lover. Fitted with the latest and
greatest in sound, visual and media storage
and streaming technology, this theatre has
been rigorously designed and developed
to provide the best-possible performance
in a space that has been expertly designed
and constructed for this very purpose.
