20 To open the mouth, you can use
the spoon side of your Dresden tool
to pull down the bottom lip. Using
the smile tool, mark in both eyes.

MAKING THE EARS
21 Roll the paste for the ears into
two small balls and flatten slightly.
Using a Dresden tool, mark in the
inside parts of the ears by pressing
down gently.
22 Using your knife, cut along the
bottom so that the edge to attach to
the mouse is straight.
23 Roll out two tiny balls of pink
modelling paste and attach to the
inside of the ears. Using a tiny
amount of edible glue, attach both
ears to the mouse.

MAKING THE NOSE
24 Roll out a tiny ball of black
modelling paste, then pinch it gently
between your fingers to make a
triangle shape.

25 Cut off the back at an angle so
that the nose sits nicely against the
face and attach. Add in two nostrils
using the Dresden tool.

MAKING THE EYELASHES
AND EYEBROWS
26 Roll out a very thin sausage of
black modelling paste, add a very fine
line of glue to the eyes and where
you would like the eyebrows to sit
and attach these to the mouse.
27 You can add on two tiny extra
pieces to add eyelashes to the
corners of the eyes.

MAKING THE TONGUE
28 Roll out a tiny ball of pink paste,
and shape it into a teardrop shape.
29 Using your Dresden tool, press
down lengthways to make an
indentation on the tongue. Attach to
the mouse using edible glue and press
into place with the flat end of your
Dresden tool.

ATTACHING THE MOUSE
TO THE CAKE
30 Using edible glue attach the
mouse’s body to the cake in
front of the pillow.
31 Attach the mouse’s head to
the indented part of the pillow,
with the face slightly to the left.

MAKING THE COVERS
32 Roll out 30g of sugarpaste
and cut into a large rectangle
(large enough to cover ¾ of
the cake). Using a stitching tool
add detail to top and bottom
of sheet and using a ruler,
mark diagonal lines to create
triangles.
33 Use the snowflake cutter to
emboss a pattern in the centre
of each triangle.
34 Lay sugarpaste over mouse,
underneath it’s chin and across
the cake. Add small dots of
edible glue to attach it. ➜
