16 Dust the leaves with
blackcurrant and glaze them to fix
the colour.
17 Fix two strips together with
pale green floral tape and then add
the leaves all around. Dust the tape
with golden holly.
20 Make a sausage with white
modelling paste. Place in orchid’s
column mould, insert a 26 gauge
floral wire and let it dry at least
twenty-four hours. Dust base light
pink, the top blackcurrant and the
anther cap lemon yellow. Dilute
some blackcurrant dusting colour
in a few drops of alcohol and with a
very thin paint brush, define centre
with very small dots.
WEDDING AND OCCASION
18 Fix the leaves together with
pale green floral tape and dust the
tape golden holly.
19 Make a sausage with white modelling paste. Roll with a small rolling pin
on a CelPad. Cut two petals using the cymbidium orchid veiner’s shape.
Insert a moistened 26 gauge floral wire. Place petal on CelPad and roll
edges with a ball tool. Place petal in the veiner and press. Prepare fourteen
petals and seven sepals of a different shape.
21 Roll out a small amount of
white modelling paste thinly.
Using the veiner’s shape, cut out
the orchid’s lip.
22 Frill edges and stick it onto the
throat. Curl the top edges of the
throat petal back slightly. Let it
dry for twenty-four hours
before colouring.
23 Shade petals and sepals
with pink. Dust the lip’s edges
blackcurrant and its centre with
a little lemon yellow. Dilute some
blackcurrant dusting colour in a few
drops of alcohol. With a very thin
paint brush draw some dots on it.
24 Fix first two petals to orchid’s
column and lip with pale green floral
tape. Proceed with remaining three
sepals. Attach three strips to orchid
with pale green floral tape. Dust tape
with golden holly and the back base of
flower blackcurrant. Steam to fix colour.
Assemble seven orchids. Place a posy
pick on the right and on top of cake
and insert one orchid. Place another at
the back and insert the leaves.
25 Mould four small drops of
modelling paste coloured light
golden holly for the buds. Make a
hook on 26 gauge floral wires, dip in
edible glue and insert in the buds.
When dry, dust with golden holly
and blackcurrant on top. Wrap a 20
gauge wire and the buds’ wires with
a small strip of absorbent paper then
with pale green floral tape. Dust
tape with golden holly. Fix buds
on 20 gauge wire with pale green
floral tape. Dust with golden holly.
Fix branch to one of the assembled
orchids. Place six posy picks around
top of the 15cm dummy and insert
orchids. Place one more pick at the
centre and insert strips and leave.
