WEDDING TREND
7 Gently pleat the wafer paper as
shown, pinching along the straight
edge to hold the shape.
8 Stack the 12.7cm tier onto the
15cm cake and begin attaching the
pleated wafer paper using edible
glue. Continue covering right to
the top of the cake.
9 Stack the 10cm cake on top of
the 12.7cm cake. To attach the
gold leaf, paint random small
patches of edible glue onto the
cake. Take the sheet of gold leaf
and press the gold side gently into
the glued parts of the cake.
10 Peel away the transfer paper
and the gold leaf that came in
contact with the glue, will remain
on the cake surface.
11 Repeat the process of adding
gold onto the Cake Crack finish on
the bottom tier.
12 Paint the cake board with a
layer of edible glue.
13 Cover the board with the
confetti sprinkles.
14 Mix the royal gold dust with
alcohol and paint onto the sprinkles.
15 Take some royal icing out of the
pot and add a tiny drop of turquoise
colour to make a pastel shade.
Add enough water to make a run
out consistency.
16 Fill a piping bag with two or
three tablespoons of the icing and
set to one side. Pour some icing on
to the top of the 10cm tier.
17 Use the piping bag to pipe
droplets down the side of the
cake as shown.
6 Paint a very thin layer of water
along the straight edge of the
wafer paper.
