followed by Smit Sibinga who wrote:
The small Sunda Islands, Celebes and the Moluccas represent marginal chains originally cut
off from the Sunda land mass; at first they formed an ordinary double chain, but afterwards
took on their present shape due to a collision with the Australian continent.
