Watts and Marvel will take this in the third (and,
presumably, final) part of this new Spider-Man
story, but the possibilities are intriguing. It’s
one thing for Tony Stark — inured by his
billions — to out himself to the world, but
a 16-year-old kid from Queens, even one
who’s an Avenger with access to Stark tech,
will handle things differently. One thing’s for
sure: it’s going to make classes at Midtown
High really interesting.

Ben Travis: The tension in Peter Parker’s life
has always been the intersection of his personal
life and web-slinging. That’s been slightly less
apparent in Homecoming and Far From Home
— but his unmasking should complicate that.

Chris Hewitt:From the beginning, when Robert
Downey Jr decided it would be a capital idea
to have Tony Stark say, “I am Iron Man,” to the
world’s press, the MCU has had no time for secret
identities. Only Spider-Man has bucked that
trend, with Peter Parker clinging fiercely to
his anonymity, fearful of the life-altering
consequences of his name being known to the
world. Being hounded by paparazzi, being hunted
by bad guys, that kind of thing. And now his
secret is out, and in the most public way possible.
It was, perhaps, inevitable — the number of
people who were in on Peter’s secret seemed
to be increasing with every passing scene in Far
From Home, from Aunt May to MJ to, well, pretty
much everybody in S.H.I.E.L.D.. But taking the
decision away from Peter is one last cruel twist of
