BARWORK, 12V & OTHER MODS

TRAY & TOURING MODS

  • Ironman Steel Bullbar

  • Custom Sliders and side bars by Kinselas Kustoms

  • Meredith Metalworks Snorkel

  • Intervolt 25A charger

  • Kickass Slimline 120AH secondary battery

  • Roof-mounted solar panel

“The Ironman front bar has definitely done the job so far, and
for the price you can’t really go past it. Kinsela’s Kustoms are
renowned for their workmanship when it comes to custom
barwork, so it was a no brainer to have Matt build my sliders
and side bars. Throw in the 3mm stainless steel bashplate,
and I’m pretty happy with how well the Nav is protected. I’m
also stoked with the look of the snorkel which was custom-
made by Merideth Metalworks... it might be a little thing, but it
really adds to the look.”
“I’ve kept it pretty basic when it comes to the 12V setup. A
secondary battery managed by the Intervolt 25A charger and
kept topped up by the solar panel on the roof means I’ve
essentially got unlimited power, which means the fridge is
always nice and cold!”

  • Alloy ute tray

  • Custom-built aluminium dogbox

  • 60L water tank with two outlets

  • 110L Upright Dometic Fridge/Freezer

  • Joolca HotTap hot water system

  • Adventure Kings Rooftop Tent

“I knew from the get go that I didn’t want the full traditional
canopy build. I wanted something that I could setup differently
for different trips. For example, the Roof Top Tent is really
only for bigger trips. I can have the entire setup off the tray in
less than 20mins. It’s essentially modular, so I can use the
elements that I want.
“I designed the dogbox myself, and it was built by Hillbilly
Custom Fabrication, while the undertray boxes were made by
Tools In A Box. The Pelican Cases are modified slightly so they
can be fastened securely, but quickly taken off or removed
completely. It’s a really convenient storage solution.”
“In one side of the dogbox, I’ve got the hot water system
and 60L water tank, as well as the dog’s bed. The other side is
home to the 110L upright Dometic fridge/freezer. The fridge is
probably my favourite mod, to be honest. It replaced a 60L
Waeco on a drop slide. First up, it’s much lighter than the
combination of the traditional 4WD fridge and slide. Secondly,
it’s much bigger and can hold much more.”

For^ what^ looks^ like^ such^ a^ simple^ setup,

Yep, that’s a (^) fully upright
fridge/freezer in there! Neat!
It’s amazing how much something
as (^) small as a snorkel can add to
the look of a (^4) WD
