hen it comes to
4WDing and
touring as a
family, few love
it as much as
Mitch, Amz and Ryder Duncan.
This family truly lives and
breathes camping and 4WDing,
and have built a weapon of a rig
to do it in. Affectionately known
as MAD RIG, this heavily
modified 105 Series
LandCruiser is a work of art.
“We used to have a 2009
Space Cab Lux,” Mitch says. “We
loved it, but it wasn’t big enough
once Ryder came along. We
were pretty set on the 105. We
wanted a solid-axle wagon, and
this one was pristine, with only
230,000km on the clock.
Something that could take us all
around Australia, and tackle
some of the toughest tracks.”
