Landmark celebrations
This year marks the 70th anniversary of Longleat
House opening its doors to the public, the
first stately home in Great Britain to do so. Set
within 900 acres of stunning ‘Capability’ Brown
landscaped parkland in the heart of Wiltshire, opt
for an exclusive tour of the house with your group,
exploring its wonderful treasures and heirlooms,
magnificent paintings and opulent interiors. Or
enjoy the Scandalous History tour which will take
your group on a playful and comical journey. There
are a host of group benefits on offer including free
tickets and a dedicated group bookings team.
Learn about aviation history with Concorde50,
Aerospace Bristol’s commemorative events
programme, running throughout this year
celebrating 50 years since the historic plane’s maiden
flight. Groups can jump aboard the last ever British
Concorde to fly, grab a unique ‘Captain’s seat’
photo for every member in the Concorde flight
desk exhibit and take home a commemorative
Concorde50 certificate to remember your visit.
Ahead of the 75th anniversary of the D-Day
landings, Bletchley Park in Buckinghamshire, has
opened a new immersive cinematic experience,
D-Day: Interception, Intelligence, Invasion. The
audio-visual exhibition is located in the newly
restored Teleprinter Building where thousands of
intercepted messages first arrived at Bletchley Park
from secret listening posts across the UK.
Another iconic landmark, London’s Tower Bridge,
is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year. Groups
of 10 or more receive a discounted entry on the tour
which tells the stories behind the bridge’s unique
structure and the people who built it.
There’s also a special ‘behind-the-scenes’ guided tour
which will give you a rare and extended look around
areas normally out of bounds to the public.
