Group Leisure & Travel – May 2019

(Steven Felgate) #1

What’s more British than the crown jewels on display
at the Tower of London? Groups can benefit from
discounted rates and the chance to learn about the
glorious but vulgar history of the tower. Experience
the Ceremony of the Keys, an ancient tradition taking
place every evening for at least 700 years or, uncover the
terrible truth of how Anne Boleyn was beheaded and
laid to rest in the tower’s chapel.

For spectacular 360-degree views of England’s capital,
the Coca-Cola London Eye remains a popular choice.
Private capsules are available for bookings, with a range
of packages to make your visit extra special. Groups of
ten plus booking in advance will receive a discount.

Perhaps the most iconic British sight there is -
Buckingham Palace - the administrative headquarters
of the monarch for more than 180 years. This November
groups can enjoy a new exhibition opening in The
Queen’s Gallery. Arguably the most magnificent of
British monarchs, George IV collected a vast amount of
artwork and items throughout his reign. Many of these
will be on display in George IV: Art & Spectacle, which
runs until May next year. Groups can take advantage of
exclusive private evening tours from 18th November to
miss the crowds.

Memorable trips

Famously known as the birthplace of Sir Winston
Churchill, the spectacular Blenheim Palace in
Oxfordshire not only offers groups discounts as well as
catering options, but themed talks are available for those
with 15 or more. Specialist speakers give an insight into
areas of particular interest and significant developments
at the palace in an enjoyable and informative way. Just
some of the themed talks available are Hatches, Matches
& Dispatches, Restoration and Conservation and
Running a Great Estate.

Groups looking for a day of excitement should be eyeing
up LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort. The latest attraction,
Haunted House Monster Party, is now open to visitors,
offering the most
‘fang-tastic’ ride for
the whole family.
Groups are welcome
at the resort where
a special package is
available including
discounted entry
prices and an Explorer
Pack for each child.
Just one of the many
highlights at the resort
is Miniland, home
to nine specially themed areas including some classically
British landmarks such as St Paul’s Cathedral and Big Ben.

In Leicester, the King Richard III Visitor Centre has
become an important part of the city’s heritage and was
voted Best Museum or Gallery at the 2018 Group Leisure
