Full steam ahead...
First of all, Michael, how did you start organising travel for groups?
I began organising group trips due to my interest in travel. I enjoy
visiting new places and along the way found that lots of people at the
railway were asking me about them, such as how to get to certain
locations and attractions. This led to me beginning to organise group
trips so that we could all go and experience certain places together.
You’re connected to more than one group.
Can you tell me a bit about this?
Yes! The main group I am involved in is the British Rail Staff Railway
Society of which I have been chairman since 2012. This is made up of
many staff and volunteers at the railway, who like myself, have a keen
interest in railways and trains. But besides this, I also help provide
information to various social groups including a local Salvation Army
Social Group and the Sports and Social Club.
Laura Sexton speaks with Michael Milner
about his passion for railways and coming
up with new ideas for his group adventures.
