Friendsandfamilyknowhimas
‘MrFixIt’becauseif it isbroken,he
willfixit.Oddsandendsmayhave
beensquirrelledawayfor 40 years,
butJohnwilleventuallyfinda use
forthem.WhenI askforthingstobe
thrown out, his response is: “It may


comeinhandysometime.”Onmany
occasionsthishascometofruition,
so I’ve learned to bitemytongue.
