Nev goes North....again.

Above: the lagoon at Hartley’s Crocodile
Adventures has to be one of the best
ways for tourists to experience crocodiles
in their natural state.

When Michael Anthony, the president of the Cape York Herpetological
Society, offered to fly me to Cairns as a guest speaker my mind went into
overdrive. I love where I live and it suits my business needs, but the Cairns
area has always been special to me and I have many friends originally from
down south who have migrated north. I knew I had to have at least enough
time there to do some herping and also to catch up with old friends. Enter
good mate Michael Cermak and his charming wife Rose, who invited me to
stay with them. Michael then set about contacting people I wanted to meet
with and told them I was coming to speak on the Friday night. He also
arranged visits to Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures and the Cairns Aquarium.
On top of that he booked us rooms at the Mount Molloy pub to fit in with our
plans to look for taipans at Jullaten.
