Portmarnock, and Old Head. On the other side
of the country, Ballybunion and Doonbeg are
just two of the gems along the Wild Atlantic
Way. Similar to New Zealand, there are
clusters of golf regions and they are all carved
out of gorgeously rugged seaside sand dunes.

enjoyed via a road trip, allowing you to
explore the untamed beauty and soaring
cliffs of this scenic West Coast of Ireland.
A relatively new route, at 2,500km it boasts
the title of the world’s longest road trip.
The region is renowned for its fresh-caught
seafood and locally prepared fare, too
— from artisanal cheese and chocolate to
lobster, crab, and mussels. Or perhaps
venture farther north to Donegal for cold-
smoked salmon and a sighting of the
Northern Lights, if you’re lucky.
