DON’T LEAVE YOUR
BEDROOM IN SNOOZE MODE
Too often the bedroom is an afterthought

  • many homeowners run out of steam by
this point. But not Lauren, who realised it
had to continue many of the themes
running throughout the house, such as
the use of colour, pattern and texture.
    Lauren asked weaver Maryanne Moodie
to create a chunky, textural wall hanging
that echoed the colours of the living room
rug and sofa. The linen, not surprisingly,
is from her own company – no white
sheets here. Everything is a continuation
of what’s elsewhere in her home.

RETHINK YOUR DECOR
TO SUIT YOUR SETTING
A long way from her previous hometown
of Melbourne, Lauren did away with the
city-smart decor that she’d used there
and adopted a fresher approach more
fitting for the lush Queensland landscape.
The surrounding gums, grevilleas and
palms inspired the colour and textural
palette that runs throughout Lauren’s
home. She also reconfigured the deck
area, with a customised dining table
and outdoor lighting, so she and Andrew
can entertain outside, day and night,
in all weathers. A

Sleep sanctuary “I never
get tired of styling beds,” Lauren
admits, so it’s only natural that her
own bed is a colourful masterpiece
featuring I Love Linen bedlinen.
Favourite finds The custom-
made outdoor dining table
displays some of Lauren’s
treasured pieces, including a tile
bought at a Sicilian flea market,
carafe by Normann Copenhagen
and a vase made by a friend.
