MEET PIXEL: AN ENERGETIC
FOUR-YEAR-OLD ENGLISH
COCKER SPANIEL WITH SOME
SERIOUSLY GOOD TASTE. Pixel
likes going for long runs outside,
leather armchairs and hand-crafted
collars, and when he’s not hanging
out in Melbourne’s Abbotsford with
his family, he likes to get away to
their renovated Victorian farmhouse
in Strzelecki, Gippsland, for some
time in the country...
Who is Pixel’s celebrity spirit
human? Definitely George Clooney.
He’s devilishly good-looking, but he’s
also a bit of a charmer.
Does he have any quirks? He just
does not like French Bulldogs. When
we see other dogs out and about,
he gets excited and wants to meet
them, but if it’s a French Bulldog,
he’s like, “keep walking”.
What’s his worst or weirdest
habit? He likes to think that he’s
a sheepdog. On the farm, he’ll get
into the paddock and round up the
cattle and sheep. And bizarrely, he’s
pretty good at it! A

Rural retreat Pixel played
a part in the couple’s decision
to buy the farmhouse. “We
thought it’d be nice to have
somewhere where he could
really stretch his legs,” Alex says.

Conscious collars One of Alex’s fabric
suppliers is a Guatemalan man who still
uses a handloom. “Being able to buy
these fabrics from him so he can support
his family was a proud moment for me.”

Love supreme “This breed
is incredibly needy,” Alex says
of cocker spaniel Pixel. “He’s
like a shadow, he just wants to
be next to you and needs
affection all the time.”
