CARLA OATES SERVES
UP FOOD FOR RADIANT
SKIN AND WELLBEING

BREAKFAST IS OUR culinary introduction to the day and should delight, satisfy,
sustain and nourish us for the morning. I always try to incorporate protein into my
breakfast (and meals generally), as it helps keep me satiated until lunch. It also
helps keep blood sugar levels balanced, which is one of the best ways to maintain
metabolic efficiency (our body’s ability to burn fat) as well as protect collagen,
the protein that keeps our skin lovely, firm and bouncy. Begin with a shot of apple
cider vinegar in water just after waking – it will help to fire up your digestive
system and increase acids in the gut, which aid digestion of your breakfast. I try
to mix up my breakfasts, alternating between sweet and savoury, although I love
savoury the best – I even enjoy a leftover soup or stew for breakfast.
