DIY HANGING GREENERY

ALYSIA FROM HAMBLINS FLORIST TELLS US HOW TO
RECREATE THIS AMAZING INSTALLATION. HAMBLINS.COM.AU
Position two ladders or platforms at eye height and rest a metal
rod, long piece of timber or hula hoop on top. Secure with
cable ties to hold your installation in place while you create it. Using
greenery foraged from your garden or your local flower markets,
build outwards from the centre, using smaller foliage in the middle
and introducing longer pieces as you work your way out. Attach each
piece with jute rope or clear floral ties. Step back to see how
it’s progressing and if needed, cut greenery to the desired shape or
length using scissors or secateurs. Once you’re happy, hang your
arrangement from the ceiling using jute rope and ceiling hooks

  • ask a friend to hold it while you tie.

WHETHER YOU’RE STARTING FROM

SCRATCH with a renovation or just looking
for some quick and easy style updates, there

are plenty of ways to embrace eco design and
interiors in your home. On the larger end of the

scale, cork flooring is a great natural choice.
It’s harvested from the bark of cork oak trees,

and this bark grows back every three years,
making it an ideal renewable resource. Cork is

also soft underfoot, durable, easy to clean and
antimicrobial if anyone in your household has

allergies. Other good eco-friendly flooring
options include reclaimed timber, bamboo,
polished concrete or recycled glass tiles.
