fully engage every part of my being. Once I
did this I was free! I was now firing on all
cylinders, finally able to tap into all my
potential and able to celebrate every
aspect of who I am.
What were the consequences of this?
I had deeper relationships, more trust from
my athletes. I delivered with more
certainty. Not having to censor the stories I
told or the lessons I shared - to hide that
part of myself. I was free to unleash all the
power within myself and be all that I could
be, and the result was a much more
powerful, engaging and compelling me as
there was no trying to figure out: “What is
that something that she is not saying?”
“What is that something she is hiding?”
Now, I am all here, 100 per cent authentic
and able to share every single part of who
I am to tell a story, teach a lesson, inspire,
relate to, and bring out the best in others.
Everyone has parts of themselves that
they think they need to hide, but in reality,
if they embrace these and choose to
develop their weaknesses, build upon their
strengths, and look upon the entire
“package” with love and respect, they are
capable of becoming so much more.
When someone isn’t being all of who they
are, it comes off as that person being
reserved, unapproachable or sometimes
even, dishonest. There is something that is
not being said, something being hidden.
And people can feel that. That sense of
wonder or confusion causes people to
trust a bit less, and thus all relationships,
business or personal, are not quite as deep

as they could be. There is an element of
hesitation; an element of caution.
Once we allow ourselves to be fully all
of who we are, we suddenly become
lighter, brighter, and more magnetic.
We draw others to be open with us.
We create a sense of comfort in first
meetings. We create a safe place where
one feels that they are safe to express
their fears, limitations, worries or their
dreams. When one is approachable as a
leader, all those around you are more likely
to share so much more about themselves
with you. You will then have more
information to use to find out the best ways
to bring out their ultimate performances.
The more information they share, the more
leverage you have to create the perfect
leadership plans to bring out the best in
everyone around you. In this process, you
yourself are fully able to tap into your
utmost potential and this is powerful.
If you want to have the best experience
of life, then celebrate you every single day.
BE ALL OF YOU! Bring all of you into this
game of life and you will find that firing on
all cylinders you can make all your dreams
come true.
This is what life is all about: find YOU,
celebrate YOU, be all that you can be.
Life is a gift and our way of showing
thanks for this incredible gift is to truly
embrace all of who we are and give back,
by becoming more.
Happy training and racing!

closed doors; a secret kept until eternity.
Realising I was gay was terrifying!
In the beginning, I felt that I had to keep
this secret safe, as it could have wiped
away all the respect I had earned. All that
I had achieved would be forgotten.
Those who loved me would feel disgusted
by the fact that they loved someone like
“that”. All the love I had worked too hard to
earn could be lost.
It came the time, however, that to be
all that I was capable of becoming meant
to accept every aspect of who I was as a
human being. I could no longer reject parts
of me that I felt were unacceptable.
These parts were what made me whole.
It was time to remove the masks and to

It was time to remove the masks

and to fully engage every part of my

being. Once I did this I was free!
