host festivals in four of Australia’s most

spectacular destinations including:

•    Port Stephens, NSW

on 23 September 2018

•    Sunshine Coast, Qld

on 28 October 2018

•    Bendigo Goldfields, Vic

on 25 November 2018

•    Australia’s iconic Snowy Mountains,

NSW on 24 February 2019

Trail Run Australia will challenge

participants to get off road and take on a

challenge against Mother Nature in some

of the most demanding and diverse terrain

that the country has to offer. It inspires

runners to tread the path less travelled in

this wild and beautiful land.

ANNOUNCED THE LAUNCH OF AN ALL NEW TRAIL RUNNING SERIES IN

AUSTRALIA WITH THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF TRAIL RUN AUSTRALIA.

SME360 is

delighted to

announce the

acquisition of

Challenge Shepparton, which is renowned

as one of Australia’s most unique and

athlete-friendly half distance courses on

the national calendar.

SME360 is the event company who

own and operate the 6 Race, 2XU Triathlon

Series in Melbourne’s Bayside locations

throughout the summer, and have also run

Challenge Melbourne for the last 5 years.

Challenge Shepparton is one of

Australia’s most unique and scenic

triathlons on offer. It’s a world class event

with the swim leg starting in Victoria Park

Lake, which is regarded as one of the best

open water swim courses in Australia.

Fresh water is pumped into the lake, then

filtered through the natural filtration

system in the wetland area providing great

water quality and visibility.

The bike course is a delight, taking

participants through the township of

Mooroopna, then along cycle friendly

country roads flanked by local farms and

fields towards the township of Toolamba.

Ahh the serenity!

The run course is loved by all athletes

and consists of three 7.03 km laps.

Runners head out along the lake edge and

around Aquamoves where they enter the

red gum forest and river flats. The course

crosses the Goulburn River at two points

on each lap.

Triathlon World Championships to

Australia in 2016 told us:

“We are so excited to launch this new

series in Australia. We ran a number of trial

events in 2017/18 and based on their

success and sell out events, and the

feedback from the market, we have taken

the decision to bring the four events into

one Australian series with a series

championship up for grabs.

1. Half Marathon


2. 10-12km


3. 5-6km


4. Free Kids Mud Rats Events

The series culminates in Australia’s

iconic Snowy Mountains in New South

Wales with a 50km Ultra included

the festival.
