THE FAB FIVE VISIT AUSTRALIA AND GIVE THE
COUNTRY TOWN THE

QUEER EYE TOUCH!

on issues
such as
race, gender
and sexuality,
Queer Eye is more
than your average makeover show – it’s
changing lives and we are oicially hooked...
Do they need a sixth member?!

Welcome to Australia! Is this the first
time in the country for you all?
Karamo: It’s amazing. I’ve been here before.
I can’t show everyone around because we
haven’t had time yet, but Australian Tourism
is giving us a little tour around a zoo soon.
Antoni: We get to see koalas!
Tan: Yes, I can’t wait for that.

Would you ever do a season Down Under?
Jonathan: We’d love to!
Tan: We have – [we went to] Yass!
Antoni: Maybe this was a seed we’ve planted
and maybe our next season is here?
Karamo: You know, that’s a dream of ours.

If we’re able to get picked up for more seasons,
I would love an international version. Antoni
is Canadian, Tan is from the UK, my family is
Jamaican. We are an international cast!

Do you feel pressure to live up to the
incredible success of the first season?
Jonathan: here’s
pressure. We want people
to love it. What didn’t
change from season one
and two is that we left
our blood, sweat and
tears there. We worked
really hard and really
did what we wanted
to do. We want to bring
joy, just as much as we
did the irst time.

Bobby, the first episode of season two
was huge for you, as you confronted
some issues from your past. What did
you learn from that experience?

Bobby: he biggest learning moment I had
was, I have animosity toward religion and
people who ailiate with religion, so getting
to know Tammye [who was being made over
in the episode] and realising there are people
who felt the way she did, which was very
anti-homosexuality – they can change their
minds. Tammye opened
her heart and her
mind, and now she’s
an advocate for our
community. It made
me take a step back
and realise not to
lump everyone into
the same category.

Is it hard feeling
vulnerable about
the things you
shareoncamera?Do you get nervous
about certain things that will air?
Jonathan: I have two things I’m worried
about for the current season, so let’s just

My mum is

now doing self-

care because

of the show!’
