he’s styled celebs
like Duchess
Meghan, Julia
Roberts and
Chrissy Teigen,
and created the
blow-dry bar phenomenon
in the US – so Alli Webb is
the perfect person to help
us inally get it right. he
Drybar founder says there
are just ive steps. ‘Be warned,

there are no shortcuts for
the perfect blowout, but if
you invest more time, the
longer it will last. So, say,
30-plus minutes on
a good blow-dry
every three to four
days will mean you
won’t have to wash
and dry every day
or every other day,’
she explains.

HOW-TO

1

‘Towel-dry clean hair to remove any
moisture. I recommend a cleansing
shampoo or a double shampoo to
extend the life of your blowout.’

2

‘Always apply a leave-in
conditioner or heat protectant
before brushing out your hair – the
condition of the hair makes all the
difference to the finished look.’

3

‘Rough-dry with your blow-dryer
first to remove any moisture. Keep
the dryer going down the shat of
the hair to smooth the follicle.’

4

‘Sections! The front of
your hair is the part you
see, so start there. Be sure to
work in 1-2-inch sections all over
your head.’ Take a large round brush
and wrap your hair around the barrel
before drying and slowly pulling
through. Use vertically throughout
your hair for curls and horizontally
at the crown for volume at the roots.

5

‘The perfect blowout is all about
repetition, manipulation and tension
on each section until each is bone dry
and perfect. Be sure to get right to
the ends so you don’t get frizzies!’

for bouncy uniform curls à la Karlie.
