Preparation is the key!
Being organised both in the kitchen and with your
meal planning will help save you time and money.
Start by planning your dinner menu for the week and
write a shopping list. Try to pick recipes that have a few
similar ingredients (especially the fresh fruit and veg) as this
can help to make sure you don’t have a lot of leftovers and
help avoid any wastage. If you know you are going to be
late one night, plan a meal to cook the night before that
can have leftovers or pick something quick and easy that
can be thrown together (like an omelette) or put on your
slow cooker (see our special from page 18) in the morning,
so dinner will be ready for you when it’s time to eat.
