Most people welcome
lots of visitors into their
homes during the Christmas
period, but this may be a bit
overwhelming for a young dog
who is only used to having his
own family around. Make

sure your visitors (especially
children!) know not to pester
your puppy, especially if he has
chosen to cuddle up in his bed
away from the chaos.

2

Supervision is very
important, especially if
your pup is teething. Make
sure there is never anything
dangerous lying around that
he could get to, including
low-hanging fairy lights, tree
decorations, or presents.
A Kong is perhaps
one of the best
ways of keeping
your pup out of
trouble on the

big day; stuff it with layers of
yummy treats, which he can
spend hours trying to get out.

If you are expecting a hectic
Christmas, you really don’t
want to have to cope with
a hyperactive puppy as well.
Take him on a long walk in the
morning so he can burn off as
much excess energy as possible,
which should prevent him from
getting too excited and wanting
to stick his nose in to anything
and everything. You could
also treat him to a new
festive ball or outfi t to
make the Christmas walk
extra special.

Puppy’s fi rst Christmas!

If you welcomed a new pup into your home this year, make
sure Christmas runs smoothly with these top tips.

Make it a stress-free
Christmas for your puppy.
