“I love cats and I hope that comes across in the text,” she
continues. “I have a deep mistrust of people who don’t like cats,
and I don’t think a house is a home without a creature to welcome
you as you come through the door.”
Of her favourite picture in the book, Caroline says: “I love Sara
Butt’s ‘Handsome Chap’ (top left). That’s probably because he
looks very like my previous cat, Bear, who was three-quarters
Sphynx and came out completely hairy. There’s a little dedication
to Bear at the end of the book.”
