Sporting Shooter Australia - 01.05.2018

(ff) #1

WHILE hunting fallow deer
with a good mate on the
Central Tablelands of NSW
last year, I took a young buck
for meat with one shot from
my .270 WSM from way across
the valley. Back at camp that
night, he told our other mates
about the shot, and they asked
me about the scope I'd used.
When I told them I was using a
Styrker, they were absolutely
dumbfounded. They asked:
"What the hell is a Styrka?"
Styrka is a Norwegian name
meaning strength that's been
given to a line of hunting
optics made in China for a

company based in Eagon,
Minnesota, U.S.A and
imported into Australia by
Ground Force International in
Fernvale, Queensland. Two
years ago, Styrka was just an
idea, but now this rapidly
growing company is making
inroads with its riflescopes,
spotting scopes, binoculars
and red dot sights.
Styrka isn't altogether new
since it the founders have a
long history in the optics
industry and spent many
decades producing the
well-known Celestron range of
optics. They brought all their

technical knowledge with
them to Styrka. The reason
this dynamic young company
got off to such a fast start
however, is that they are
"hunter focused" and have a
fresh approach to honesty in
marketing judged by the way
they stand behind their Styrka
Pride warranty which is
simply unbelievable. In the
event of damage or
malfunction, they will replace
or repair your Stryker optic
free of charge. No questions
asked. No receipt needed. No
matter who bought it! And
something unprecedented:

Ground Force International
says that if you send them
your Styrka product they'll
clean and tune it once a year
free - forever!
tyrka's business strategy is
to offer maximum
performance at a reasonable
price as there is always room
for less expensive high-quality
hunting optics. So a bunch of
people with wide experience
in the optics business started a
new company called Styrka.
They spent the time and
money to design a new line of
high-quality hunting optics
which included riflescopes,
binoculars and spotting
scopes and had them made in
China to their own strict
specifications.
This month we'll look at the
riflescopes all of which
feature mono-tube
construction. The complete
scope - front and rear bells, as
well as the body and saddle of
the scope, are turned from a
single piece of 6061-T6
aircraft-grade aluminium,
thereby eliminating any joints.
The absence of joints in these
scopes make them stronger
and straighter, enabling the
maker to align the lenses to a
zero degree of tolerance which
aids in gaining the maximum
amount of light transmission.
In addition, Styrka
multicoats every air-to-glass
lens surface within the scope
system with their proprietary
SXL anti- reflective flat
broadband coatings for
maximum low light
performance, optimal colour
rendition, razor sharpness and
image contrast. Lens edges are
also blackened to block stray
light and reduce reflection and
glare. This achieves ultimate
vision quality. The completely
sealed system makes these
scope fogproof, waterproof, and
shockproof. Another feature of
