the monotube is the speed

Styrka scopes have a
handsome streamlined
appearance and matte-black
anodised finish. They were
obviously designed for the
hunting field and their specs
bear this assumption out.
Styrka riflescopes are made
in three series - the S3 and S5
which are based on a standard
one-inch tube while the S7 has
a 30mm diameter tube. The
economical S3 series lists four
models starting with a 4x32
rimfire scope which is
parallax corrected for 50 yds.
and a field of view of 25.4ft at
100yd. The basic 2-7x version
was designed for use on
muzzleloaders and shotguns
and has a 75yd parallax
setting, but two other models
have parallax set at 100yd.
making them the perfect
choice for a light mountain
rifle. These two scopes are
available with a BDC reticle in
place of the Plex. Etched
reticles are located in the
second focal plane where they
don't change size.
All four scopes can be had
with side-mounted parallax
adjustments that range from
10 yards to infinity. Elevation
and windage adjustments are
in 1/4-inch increments, and
they are rigorously inspected
to deliver precise zeroing and
adjustment value. Windage
and elevation turrets provides
a total of 60 MoA of internal
adjustment. Dials are clearly
marked and can be turned
with the fingers.
After sighting in your rifle,
the windage and elevation
dials are zeroed by removing
the centre screw with a coin or
screwdriver and aligning the
zero mark with the indicator
mark, and then tightening the
centre screw. Internally, the

The St yrka 2.5-15x50mm has
100mm of eye relief, long
enough to ensure the rim of the
eyepiece won’t gash your brow on
a heavy recoiling rifle.

The Stryka has a third turret
which is necessary for
parallax adjustment on this high
magnification 2.5-15x variable.

All Styrka riflescopes are
constructed to be rugged and
very bright optically, with precise,
repeatable adjustments.

adjustment mechanisms are
made of hardened steel,
ensuring consistent click feel,
wear resistance and longevity.
The accuracy of adjustment
was confirmed in the
"shooting the square" drill.
Every 2-7x scope has long
eye relief of 100mm , an 8mm
exit pupil and wide fields of
view at 100yds. - 25.4ft for the
4x; 46.9-13.2 ft for the 2-7x;
37.7-12.3 ft for the 3-9x40; and
26.8- 8.8 ft for the 4-12x.
Lengthening eye relief from
the standard 3-1/2in. to 4 in.
means the hunter is less likely
to get hit in the eyebrow when
shooting from field conditions,
even when shooting a hard-

kicking magnum. A lot of
hunters are using .30
magnums these days, so that
extra 1/2in. of eye relief will
prevent them suffering the
indignity of wearing a
half-moon cut over their
aiming eye.
The Styrka S5 series is a step
up and limited to just three
models - 1.75-5x32, 3-9x40 and
4.5-14x44. In addition to all
the features of the S3 and the
options of Plex and BDC
reticles, the last two scopes
are also available with side
parallax focus.
The top-of-the line S7 series
has the added refinement of a
6x zoom ratio. All three

models - 1-6x24, 3-12x42 and
2.5-15x50 - not only have the
ability to adjust for parallax,
but all can be had with an
illuminated Plex reticle. The
big 2.5-15x50 has the option of
an illuminated Mil-Dot reticle.
Like the majority of modern
scopes, adjustments consist of
a screw on top and another on
the right side of an erector
tube with optical lenses that
lies inside the main body tube.
The erector tube's function is
only partly optical, "erecting
the image" so that it doesn't
appear upside down. The
windage and elevation knobs
are actually the tops of screws
inside the scope that press the
