Work your forearms to and fro
Load the club through 90 degrees to your right, parallel with the ground
then rotate it back to the other side. Keep your little fi nger as stationary
as possible. Work the club to-and-fro in front of a mirror.

Use the wiper drill for forearm strength & speed
First stand upright with the clubhead directly opposite your sternum.
Cock your wrists upwards so the club is vertical. Stick out your little
fi nger of the right hand. You will use this as the axis of the drill.

Left shoulder
controls the swing
When the left shoulder
works correctly, many
other moving parts slot
into place automatically.
Here it moves perfectly
un erneath his throat.

ON PLANE

AND IN

CONTROL

Here’s the biggest change in Tiger’s swing. A year ago,
his left arm was too steep at the top of the backswing,
but now it’s in perfect plane and there’s no longer an
excessive bowing of the left wrist. A line drawn from
the butt of the club to the ball would bisect Tiger’s
sternum. The lesson here is that when your body
rotates in the ideal plane, your forearms and wrists
load properly.
