With more and more brands com-
ing to market, Protein Partners
wanted to ensure that it set the stand-
ards when it comes to the growing
demand for quality blended nutrition
products.
“Created specifically on site at our
head office and manufacturing plant in
Greater Manchester, our product formula-
tions set the benchmark as a comparison
for quality for many of the businesses we
work with,” explains Kat Collins, Protein
Partners, Project E2 head of marketing.
“Having the trust, knowledge and indus-
try network enables us to source and
deliver the best possible products to an
agreed specification.
“As consumer usage increases, so
does the customer demand for next gen-
eration formulations. Our inhouse team
are the knowledge behind the nutrition,
helping customers to formulate, blend
and pack products, from the initial
design to final delivery.”
The Protein Partners is a subsidiary of
County Milk Products, one of Europe’s
leading suppliers of dairy ingredients to
the food manufacturing industry. Within
County Milk Products, the Protein Part-
ners is just one addition to the Compa-
ny’s processing capabilities, which also
includes County Food Ingredients and
County Chef, as NPD and innovation in
applications become paramount within

the wider Group.
Collins adds: “Not only is it a prosper-
ous time for the manufacturing side of
the business, but the branded businesses
are also flourishing for the Protein Part-
ners, driven by the multiple consumer
segments requiring tailored formula-
tions.”

big brand resilience
The resilience of the brand’s strength
can be seen with its muscle and power
brand CNP which celebrates its 20th
anniversary this year. Collins says: “With
marketing investment and new prod-
uct innovations coming to market, the
brand sees a return to it’s roots with the
Muscle Memory, Muscle Future tagline.
“Celebrated as one of the first nutrition
brands in the UK market, CNP’s success
was first attributed to founder Kerry
Kayes’ nutritional support to boxer Ricky
Hatton, not to mention numerous other
professional athletes and teams along
the way. Previously the Official Supplier
to Team Sky and British Cycling, CNP
ventured into the world of cycling, creat-
ing bespoke recipes and award-winning
formulations, further cementing the
success of the brand.”
As the brand prepares to reflect on its
heritage in muscle, strength and body-
building, 2018 sees the dawn of a new
brand for the business, Project E2.
“Developed specifically for the needs
of endurance athletes and enthusiasts,
Project E2 is the sister brand to CNP,”
explains Collins. “Launching exclusively
from March 2018, Project E2 brings to
market a streamlined range of pre, intra
and post workout formulations.
“Built on the strength and insight
from CNP’s product range, Project E
aims to appeal to a more serious endur-
ance athlete. To support the launch the
brand sets it’s sights on a network of high
profile influencers, spreading the word
with nationwide sampling campaigns
and social media activation.” n
